Camperships

Canonicus believes EVERYONE should have the opportunity to experience camp at Canonicus this summer!

Below is your Campership Financial Aid Individual Application Form for the 2010 summer camp season at Canonicus.  Please fill out all information completely; this is the only application for Overnight and Day Campership/Warren L. & Grace Adams Scholarship requests.  It is important that you complete all portions of the application so that we may process your campership request in a timely manner.

Please realize that campership funding is limited, and we desire to support as many of our American Baptist youth as possible, so you may only apply for one campership (for 1 week) per camper.  Please check with your church or other agencies prior to submitting this campership application form to see if they offer additional funding to assist you in funding camp costs.  Funding from these additional sources enables us to more effectively maximize our limited resources.  Should you receive a response from an additional source, it is very important that you include this information on your form.

Many of our camp programs fill quickly, so please return your completed application and registration form promptly along with the required non-refundable $75 registration fee.  Additional forms may be downloaded from our website: www.canonicus.org.

You will be notified from us by mail, or via your church youth contact person, regarding your request for campership aid and the amount of the award.  Please do not call the office for award information; campership amounts cannot be quoted over the phone.  In addition, no Registrations or Applications are completed by phone. My staff members’ names & extension numbers are listed below if you need specific assistance selecting camp programs or completing forms.

Please submit campership applications to Canonicus by Friday, May 14th.  Our first round of campership applications is reviewed during the week of May 17th.  Applications may be submitted after this date and, if there are remaining funds, they will be distributed as available for the 2010 summer camping season.

We look forward to providing campers a safe and happy Christ-centered camping environment where new friends are made and relationships with Christ are established and strengthened.

You have 3 options for seeking financial assistance to attend Canonicus. The first option is to contact your local church or public service agency. Most have special funding set aside just for kids who want to attend camp and they are willing to provide financial assistance to families that need help with the fees associated with camp.  We encourage you to check with your church or agency first to see if such aide is available.

If your church or local agency is unable to help, or if you need additional assistance, your second option is to request camperships directly from Canonicus. These funds come from caring people who donate or endow money specifically dedicated for camperships so youth do not miss out on the experience of the Christian camping ministry at Canonicus.  Many of these donors were campers or staff members themselves and have a personal love for our camp ministry.  It is because of their generosity that we can offer youth the needed funds to attend camp.

The third option is designed especially for children of camp alumni or those attending an American Baptist church and it is called the Warren L Adams Memorial FundIf anyone in your family previously attended, worked at camp, or currently attends an ABCORI church then you are eligible to apply for these special funds.

You can download all necessary applications below.

If you wish to contribute to the Canonicus campership fund through a tax deductible gift, please contact our Director of Administration, Liz Lussier, at 401-294-6318 ext.100 or via email.
